The Calcutta Club Library is one of the oldest libraries in Kolkata. This heritage library was established in 1907. The sanctum of the library enriches with old rare collection books, reference books, fiction & non-fiction books, science fiction, biographies, autobiographies, magazines, newspapers, DVD Collection, collection on famous persons and so on. These are arranged according to a specific genre and specialised author collection. The members of the library can access its collection openly under the circulation through open-source software KOHA.

The library provides a huge collection of books, Indian & Foreign magazines, Bengali & English newspapers to its regular members, which is as follows:

The speciality of the Calcutta Club Library:
The speciality of this library is Nirad C. Chaudhuri’s corner. (Renowned Indian writer)

The library opens from 9.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and from 3.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.
(Library closed at the Lunch Break from 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.)
Sunday – 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
Monday – Closed
(Due to the pandemic situation, the above-mentioned timing is temporarily suspended. The present library timing is 12.00 PM to 8.00 PM, Sunday-10AM to 2 PM.)

How to take service from the library:
After becoming a member, you can go to the library and show your membership card, and then you can enjoy the services of the library.

Library Reading Service:
Two reading rooms with a capacity for 20 people at a time. More than 20 cannot use the reading room facility.
Subscription Charges & Fines:
a. Subscription Charges for Member Rs.50.00/- per month
b. Subscription for Senior Dependants Rs.20.00/- per month
c. Lost Book Charges – Price at Date of Purchase
d. Fine for old book Rs. 1/-per day&Fine for new book 5/- per day after the due date.
e. Fine for DVD Rs. 4/- per day after the due date.

Library Rules:
1. Below 18 years are not allowed.
2. Only library members can access the library after showing their library card to the librarian.
3. Library members can lend four books and two DVDs at a time.
4. New books can be borrowed from the library for 15 days, old books for 21 days and DVDs for 10 days.
